Tamara Agins is the Executive Director of Emerge Louisiana. Prior to joining Emerge, she served as the Director of Research and Policy for New Orleans Mayor’s LaToya Cantrell and Mitch Landrieu, and the senior policy analyst with the Business Council of New Orleans & the River Region. A native New Yorker, she worked on affordable housing, industrial development, and flood resilience initiatives for the New York City Department of City Planning before relocating to New Orleans in 2016.
Tamara graduated from Haverford College with a B.A. in Political Science and Gender & Sexuality Studies. She is a 2017-2018 Loyola Institute of Politics Fellow, a graduate of the Civic Leadership Academy, and serves on the New Orleans Board of Zoning Adjustments. She is also a 2x New York City Government Softball League All Star, and enjoys amateur boxing in her spare time.
