Our Program
Emerge is fundamentally changing the face of politics in this country by breaking down barriers, opening doors, and creating pathways for Democratic women to get involved in politics. We are the nation’s premier organization that recruits, trains, and provides a powerful network to Democratic women who want to run for office. In addition to our effective state and national candidate training and continuing education programming, we offer an inclusive sisterhood of alumnae across the state and a local network on-the-ground in Louisiana 365 days a year to support women through their candidacies at every level and once they are elected.
Our Curriculum
Participants meet in person and virtually for four months beginning in January 2024 and receive comprehensive training on the following topics:

- Labor and Endorsements

- Ethical Leadership

Who Trains?
Our trainers are premier campaign strategists, political consultants, state party leaders, and current and former elected officials from across state and the country. Most are deeply involved in Louisiana politics, and have won races from City Council to the Governor’s mansion.
Tuition:
The cost of our program is $625 – but we encourage all participants to follow our grassroots fundraising program, training, and templates to fundraise that amount instead of paying tuition. Fundraising is hard, particularly for women candidates, and even more so for women of color running for office. Campaign finance remains a barrier of entry for many women running for office, and that’s why we’re tackling it head-on. Program participants will receive full support in meeting their $625 fundraising goal throughout our training program and beginning as soon as they are accepted to the 2024 class.

Louisiana deserves so much better, and we’re ready to take on the old boys club. We’re looking for women who are engaged in their communities and want to effect change.
